Decentralized Supervisory Control of Discrete Event Systems: involving the fusion system in the decision-making

چکیده
In the decentralized control of Discrete Event Systems, a set of supervisors take enabling/disabling decisions which can be fused for deducing actual decisions. The first architecture that has been developed for decentralized control is referred to as the conjunctive architecture. Several more general architectures have subsequently been proposed. We propose a new architecture, whose basic principle is as follows: for every event which is controllable by several supervisors, each of the latter takes an enabling/disabling decision only when it is sure that this is the right decision which can be applied to the plant. Otherwise, the supervisor transmits its local information to the fusion system which will thus be involved in the enabling/disabling decision-making. We compare our approach with the previous decentralized approaches.

Partial Observation in Distributed Supervisory Control of Discrete-Event Systems
Distributed supervisory control is a method to synthesize local controllers in discrete-eventsystems with a systematic observation of the plant. Some works were reported on extending this methodby which local controllers are constructed so that observation properties are preserved from monolithic todistributed supervisory control, in an up-down approach. In this paper, we find circumstances in ...
متن کاملRecent Developments in Discrete Event Systems
This article is a brief exposure of the process approach to a newly emerging area called "discrete event systems" in control theory and summarizes some of the recent developments in this area. Discrete event systems is an area of research that is developing within the interstices of computer, control and communication sciences. The basic direction of research addresses issues in the analysis an...
متن کاملDecision Fusion and Supervisor Synthesis in Decentralized Discrete-Event Systems
We study a problem in decentralized supervisory control coined the Global Problem (GP) by Rudie and Wonham (1992). The objective is to nd local supervisors that generate languages that lie in a speci ed range of closed languages. We present results for a version of this problem called the Special Global Problem, (SGP) where the lower end of the range is empty and the higher end of the range is ...
متن کاملReliable supervisory control for general architecture of decentralized discrete event systems
In this paper, we investigate the reliable decentralized supervisory control of discrete event systems (DESs) under the general architecture, where the decision for controllable events is a combination of the conjunctive and disjunctive fusion rules. By reliable control, we mean that the performance of closedloop systems will not be degraded even in the face of possible failures of some local s...
متن کاملDecentralized prognosis of fuzzy discrete-event systems
This paper gives a decentralized approach to the problem of failure prognosis in the framework of fuzzy discrete event systems (FDES). A notion of co-predictability is formalized for decentralized prognosis of FDESs, where several local agents with fuzzy observability rather than crisp observability are used in the prognosis task. An FDES is said to be co-predictable if each faulty event can be...
